Honeycomb
-
Final Product
For our second project in my Intro to Sculpture course at OSU, we were tasked with creating a piece using metalworking and a malleable object. I created a set of three giant sized honeycomb using lighting gels! They are hung from the ceiling so the viewer can walk through the set, and become one with the bee:) This picture is with only one light on, pointed from the floor. If I had the resources, there would be more lights coming from the sides and the top to cast the gel shadows fro multiple directions.

Lights on
This is the finished product with other lights in the room on.
-
Framing
Here is the metal frame by itself, in the middle of attaching the gels. It is made from aluminum rods, which I cut down to the same size and welded together. I then used a scour pad and denatured alcohol to clean the metal and adhere the gel better.
Trinket Shelf

First Gallery Closeup
I attached this to the wall with phillips head screws into studs, to ensure the added weight wouldn’t pull the sculpture forward.

Papermache
I didn’t take process pictures of creating the cardboard structure, but I measured the items that were going on the shelf, then created boxes to attach to one larger piece. I used two different books from a thrift store to paper mache with. The first was the cheapest I could find, and the second is The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern.
-
Adding Moss
This is a picture with the paper mache in the midst of drying. I added various types of moss to the middle, with even more in later picture.

Full picture
The bend was from leaving the sculpture standing while the paper mache was drying, causing it to bend in on itself. Later I sprayed it with water and set heavy objects across it to lessen the curve.

Finished Key
This is a project from my 3 Dimensional Art course at Ohio State University. It was created using only cardboard , hot glue and paper mache. The original key was scaled up 10x the scale.

Ceramics
-
Pot
This is from my ceramics course at OSU. For this project, we had to create a piece inspired by pottery from before the 1600’s. I choose a piece of Jōmon pottery from Japan during the Jōmon period. The lid to this piece is what was particularly inspired. The writing inscribed on the sides is from The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern. The pot itself is about 12 inches tall, while the lid is about 2 inches tall.
-
"Wood" Planters
This was a personal project created for friends. I painted the outside with brown underglaze, covered it with wax, and then carved out the wood detailing and painted that with more underglaze. The inside was coated with a shiny black glaze.
-
In Progress
Here are the “Wood” planters and a slug planter in progress.
-
Strawberry Planter
This was my final project during my course. It is a strawberry planter that is roughly 18 inches tall.

Strawberry Planter
Here is another side to the strawberry planter.
-
In Progress
The strawberry planter was originally 4 feet tall, but I got too ambitious while creating and it collapsed on me. I ended up splitting this piece in half, using one half for the planter, and one for a vase with slugs on it.

Plate in Progress
We had to create a table setting for two for our wheel thrown project. This is my plate before firing, with a chapter from The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern inscribed on it.
Lobster
-
The Toy Lobster
In my Intro to Sculpture course I took at OSU, our first project was to build a lobster with the class. We each got one piece of a plastic toy lobster, and then tasked with scaling it up 10x in wood. I had a pair of the legs! I tried to be exact with my scaling, but as I got into the smoothing of the wood I got more experimental with the piece.

Various Projects
-
Dragons in the Sky
This is a shiny tablecloth attached to the ceiling, with strands of stars and beads hanging across attached with tape, and origami dragons hanging by string at various heights. This is added to regularly.
-
The Red Chair
This was a class project for Intro to 3D art at OSU. We all created a chair out of a single 2x4, or other materials for accessibility. I created the red chair at the bottom with treated wood, outdoor stain, and filled any screw holes so that it is able to be used outside.
-
Inflatable Hearts
This was a project for my Intro to 3D Art class at OSU. We had to create an inflatable structure. I created these linking hearts with plastic tablecloth and tape, flipping them inside out so you can’t see the tape. They are in the colors of the trans-flag to show support:) I am a Non-Binary artist that doesn’t consider themselves trans, but it is a close community that needs more action and love from the public.

Butterflies on the ceiling.
What the title says.

Collapsible Paper Umbrella
This was a project for my Intro to 3D Art class at OSU. This was created entirely out of paper and hot glue. I love the irony of an umbrella that can’t get wet! I also gave myself the challenge of making it collapsible and succeeded.
